DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service awareness program on postgraduate study opportunities in Germany successfully concluded

 

The institute conducted an awareness session targeting third- and fourth-year undergraduate students, recent graduates, and doctoral candidates who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies in Germany. A large number of people participated in the program, which was held at the Panibharatha Theatre on July 30, 2025, from 8.30 am to 10.30 am.

This program was held under the patronage of the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Fine Arts, Professor Rohan Nethsinghe.

University of the Visual and Performing Arts Job Fair 2025 successfully concluded

To introduce job opportunities to students of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, this job fair was organized on 02.07.2025 from 09.00 am to 05.00 pm on the second floor of the Pundit W.D. Amaradeva Building of the University, in conjunction with the 20th anniversary and open day of the University. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Professor Rohan Nethsinghe, was the chief guest at this program.

We aimed to introduce career opportunities for our graduates, who are experts in the arts, so that they can utilize their talents in a way that will enable them to provide leadership to society.

Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to connect directly with institutions and corporate representatives from the Sri Lankan and international arts, media, education, cultural, and technology sectors through a job fair.

A large number of students and graduates from the faculties of Dance and Drama, Music, and Visual Arts participated in this event, and we received positive responses from them. This job fair in 2025 was organized By IQUA Faculty Advisors, Snr. Lec. Charudaththa Illangasinghe, Lec. Prasanna Dharama Shri, Lec. S P H C Amarasinghe, under the patronage of Dr. Ediriweera Gunasekara, Director of the Career Guidance Unit of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts. The training workshop on preparing job applications and facing interviews was concluded successfully.

The training workshop on preparing job applications and facing interviews, organized by the Career Guidance Unit of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, concluded successfully. It was held on June 16, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Panibharatha Theatre under the patronage of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rohan Nethsinghe.

This workshop was organized to provide training to final-year university students on the basic skills, such as CV preparation, interview preparation, and professional behavior, they need as they prepare to enter the professional workforce. This was implemented under the 2025 Action Plan of the Career Guidance Unit of the University of the Visual and Performing Arts. 436 final year students attended this workshop from the faculties of Dance and Drama, Music, and Visual Arts, and positive feedback was received from all of them. Career Guidance Counselor Mr. Asanka Milroy and Secretary of the Western Provincial Public Service Commission Mr. Tilak Senarath participated as resource persons in this workshop.
